A/Prof Gregory Miles Cario has resided in the St George area for most of his life. His primary education was at Kingsgrove and Hurstville schools and secondary education at Kingsgrove High School. He then entered Sydney University to study medicine. He graduated with Honours and proceeded to do his residency and specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at St George Hospital and Canterbury Hospital before transferring to London on rotation from St George Hospital to complete his senior registrar training working at Charing Cross, West London and West Middlesex Hospitals.

In the United Kingdom, A/Prof Cario developed a keen interest in the investigation and treatment of urinary incontinence.

A/Prof Cario is married, has 4 children and is a dedicated family man who is heavily involved in school activities. His interests include medical teaching in third world countries, travel and all sports including golf and football. He is also heavily involved in charity work for juvenile diabetes, which affects one of his children.
