A/Prof. Gamal Matthias delivers services for high and low risk obstetric patients. His wide experience ensures safety and choice for women. He provides sub-specialised services for women who suffer miscarriages, repeated IVF failures, pregnancy loss and other immune and fertility conditions.

His Gynaecology interests include general gynaecology, laparoscopic, pelvic floor and incontinence surgery. In addition to colposcopy, gynaecological endocrinology and reproductive immunology (e.g. repeated miscarriages and endometriosis).

A/Prof. Matthias trained and worked in England, Australia and the USA. He trained in reproductive immunology under Professor Alan Beer and subsequently introduced this concept and service under the name Sydney Reproductive Immunology, established in 1995. He caters for women with immune issues affecting their reproductive system, hormones and pregnancy. He is heavily involved in training of medical students registrars and young specialists.

A/Prof. Matthias has academic and research interests and authored many publications and lectures widely on reproductive immunology internationally and nationally. He is a Associate Professor and Senior Examiner with the Australian Medical Council. He has two teenage boys.
