What we’re looking for
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Registered or Enrolled Scrub Scout Nurse to join our Perioperative Team at Hurstville Private Hospital.

Hurstville Private Hospital has 7 theatres which provide surgical care to both complex and day surgery, inclusive of Robotic, Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedic, Colorectal, Urology, General, Bariatric, Plastic, Gynaecology and Obstetric surgery.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and be supported in advancing their skills in Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracic and Robotic Surgery.

As a member of the Perioperative Department you will be part of a team that values professional development and is committed to excellence.

Ideally you will have the following;
Essential Criteria

  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Theatre Unit Nursing;
  • Demonstrated clinical competence with proven ability to operate confidently in the Theatre Unit;
  • Demonstrated collaborative and well-developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient centered care;
  • Well-developed time management skills with a high degree of initiative;
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement;
  • Experience with computerised reporting systems;
  • Commitment to Professional Development and to a structured learning program for all staff;
  • Membership of relevant professional organization;
  • Immunisation Evidence (including full COVID vaccination and seasonal influenza) and additional serology report.

Desirable Criteria

  • Completion of a Post Graduate qualification;
  • Membership of relevant professional organisation.
