Dr Calvin Hsieh graduated from the University of New South Wales medical school with honours, and trained in adult cardiology at Westmead Hospital. He is well versed in all aspects of adult cardiology, but has a strong sub-specialist interest in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and device implantations and spent further time training in a major combined tertiary and quaternary referral hospital in the United Kingdom.
Dr Hsieh has a strong research interest in electrophysiology, with a philosophy that research will help move this field and thus have a dramatic effect on the health outcomes of his patients. He won the Ralph Reader Award for his research, awarded by the combined Australia and New Zealand Cardiac Society. He continues along this vein, with further research projects exploring multiple aspects of cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr Hsieh consults at Hurstville Private Heart Centre and The Cardiac Centres' Wollongong Shellharbour practices.
