Dr Chan is a cardiologist with an interest in heart rhythm disorders, pacing and implantable cardiac devices. He completed his general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and National Heart Foundation funded PhD studies on vascular disease at the University of Sydney. He then undertook a 2 year post-doctoral clinical and research fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago, USA, under the mentorship of Prof David Wilber, before returning to Australia as a Staff Specialist in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School.
